Montipora Capricournus comes in a wide array of colors, shapes, and textures. It usually grows out in horizontal shelf like plates or sometimes vertically in a bowl like fashion. This characteristic makes this coral perfect for filling spaces in your reef where there is no rockwork for coral to spread onto. In addition, two or more different colors of Montipora Cap can be attached in the same spot (not touching) and as they grow and plate out they will twist around one another keeping adequate distance form one another so as not to touch. This effect creates a beautiful effect as plates of different colors overlap and twist about one another.

Montipora Capricornus, if kept under the right conditions can grow from a small one-inch size piece to a large show size colony within a year. In addition to having a fast growth rate it is also relatively easy care for making it a great coral for beginners to experts. It enjoys high levels of metal halide or other full spectrum lighting in order to keep its bright coloration and fast growth rates. Supplementation of phytoplankton or other similar sized foods made for SPS will also benefit this coral.
